Laura Myers Principal / Founder

Laura Myers is an accomplished business consultant and entrepreneur specializing in recruiting strategies and staff augmentation. She has more than a decade of experience finding intelligent, enterprising professionals to fit clients across many industries, particularly in sales and marketing, consumer products, HR, operations and manufacturing. She founded Recruit Up, LLC in 2010 on the idea that recruiting is not immune to innovation and currently runs the successful and growing firm. Laura earned her Bachelor degree in Business Administration at the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC.

What professional accomplishment has been the most gratifying?
Growing a successful business with a dynamic team of dedicated, experienced recruiters that serves smart clients and professionals.

Angela Hultz Recruiting Manager

As Recruiting Manager for Recruit Up, Angela Hultz is key to the daily operations and success of the firm. Since joining Founder Laura Myers in 2010, she has managed firm operations, recruiters and clients in many capacities. Angela has a professional background in recruiting, operations and small team management in a variety of industries. Prior to joining Recruit Up, she worked at AT&T and at Southern Executive Offices as operations manager.

What is something you are particularly proud of?
Her two children and that she is currently pursuing a dual degree in English and Literature.

Shera Brown Recruiter

Shera Brown has a diverse professional background that includes launching a high tech start-up, helping grow a medical billing service provider, and working as a liaison between U.S. Customs and Brokers for a major international shipping container company. In all of these roles, she has used her natural given and learned interpersonal communications skills to foster the personal relationships that are necessary to be successful in business. Shera has a B.A. in Communications Arts with a concentration in Interpersonal Relations and a minor in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire.

Ever had your 15 minutes of fame?
She sang the National Anthem for some of the New York Giants football team.

Meghan Mack Recruiter

Meghan Mack joined Recruit Up with an extensive professional background in staffing, recruiting and accounting. Since graduating from Elon University with a degree in Political Science, she has worked on both coasts from Los Angeles, to Charlotte, NC and now Richmond, VA. She has experience in a variety of companies including Bank of America, US Personnel and Abacus Staffing, and recently Meghan started her own business called Dorothy & Mary Jane, a clothing and gifts boutique.

What do you like to do in your free time?
She loves running, surfing with her husband and 3 children, and her first cup of coffee at 5:30 a.m.

Erika Denton Recruiter

Erika Denton brings a decade of experience in Human Resources to Recruit Up. Her work includes employee recruitment and retention, talent acquisition strategy, recruiting metrics, staff development, manager coaching, benefits and compensation, HR policies and legal compliance. She is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and earned her PHR (Professional in Human Resources) designation in 2005. She holds a degree in Sociology from Washington State University.

Where is the most interesting place you've lived?
She and her family spent two years living and exploring Panama while assigned to the U.S. Embassy in Panama City, Panama.

Melissa Carroll Recruiter

Melissa Carroll is an accomplished account manager who has worked in various industries. Having lived across the country and in Hawaii, she brings more than a decade of business knowledge in various markets to Recruit Up. Her work includes consulting, specialized marketing and account management at both corporate and multi-unit levels. Melissa has won consecutive awards in Sales Achievement and Sales Penetration for exceeding goals and expectations. She holds two Bachelor's degrees in Consumer Foods and Dietetics from the University of Georgia.

Have you accomplished or done something most people haven't?
With her husband, 18-month-old daughter and Labrador, Melissa at six months pregnant traveled across country for 40 days while moving from Virginia to California, sleeping in tents, a teepee, a trailer, hotels and friends' homes along the way.

Kristi Benner Recruiter

Kristi Benner brings a wealth of knowledge to the Recruit Up team with proven success in recruiting, relationship building and candidate identification initiatives through networks of recruiting sources. Most recently she was an On-Site Manager for the Spherion Corporation at Lending Tree where she was responsible for recruiting, hiring and training employees, as well as developing employee retention and succession planning tools. Kristi graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Human Ecology and a Minor in Business Administration.

Is there a family tradition that you cherish?
Kristi and her family hike Mt. LeConte in the Great Smoky Mountains every October. It was a favorite trip of her father's and a tradition they have in his honor since his passing.
